Shilpa Shetty issues an official statement in the midst of Raj Kundra’s pornography case, requesting ‘privacy’

Mumbai: Shilpa Shetty has finally issued an official statement on her social media accounts after deciding not to comment on the ongoing pornography case involving her husband Raj Kundra. The actress took to Instagram and Twitter to request privacy, stating that they do not require any media trials.

She wrote, “Yes! The past few days have been challenging, on every front. There have been a lot of rumours and accusations. ‘A lot of unwarranted aspersions on me cast by the media and (not so) well wishers as well.  A lot of trolling/questions posed… not only to me but also to my family. MY STAND… HAVE NOT COMMENTED YET and will continue to refrain from doing so on this case as it is subjudice, so please stop attributing false quotes on my behalf. Reiterating my philosophy of, as a celebrity “Never never explain’. All I will say is, as it’s an ‘ongoing investigation, I have full faith in the Mumbai Police & the judiciary. As a family, we are taking recourse to all our available legal remedies.”

Meanwhile, Shilpa recently filed a petition with the Bombay High Court, requesting that various media outlets and social media platforms refrain from publishing allegedly defamatory content about her.

Despite the fact that the HC refused to issue the stay order, it stated that it would have a chilling effect on the ‘Freedom of the Press.’ Raj Kundra, her husband, was arrested on July 19 for the creation and distribution of pornography. He is currently in judicial custody for 14 days.
