Krystyna Pyszkova of Czech Republic Crowned Miss World 2024 in Mumbai Extravaganza

In a dazzling spectacle held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, Krystyna Pyszkova from the Czech Republic emerged as the new Miss World during the 71st Miss World Competition. The grand finale featured a rich tapestry of beauty, art, and design from around the world, set against the cultural backdrop of India. Pyszkova, the second Miss World from the Czech Republic, was crowned by the reigning Miss World Karolina Bielawska, with Yasmina Zaytoun from Lebanon named the first runner-up.

The event, hosted by India after 28 years, showcased the entertainment industry’s glitterati and conveyed messages of social relevance. While India’s contestant Sini Shetty made it to the top eight, the top four eluded her. Pyszkova, a model pursuing degrees in law and business administration, impressed with her advocacy for sustainable development through education and her foundation’s work. Her profile highlighted her dedication to opening an English school for underprivileged children in Tanzania. The Miss World pageant, featuring contestants from 112 countries, included a distinguished judging panel from the film industry, including Sajid Nadiadwala, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, and cricketer Harbhajan Singh.

India, a six-time winner of the prestigious title, was represented by Shetty, crowned Femina Miss India World in 2022. The month-long Miss World contest featured various competitions, talent showcases, sports challenges, and charitable initiatives, emphasizing the competitors’ role as ambassadors of change.
