An 11-year-old Indian-American girl has been named one of the world’s brightest kids

Natasha Peri, an 11-year-old Indian-American girl, has been named one of the world’s smartest children by a top US university for her outstanding performance on the SAT and ACT standardized tests. The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) and the American College Testing (ACT) are both standardized tests that many institutions utilize to assess whether or not to admit a student. Companies and non-profits may also utilize these ratings to give merit-based scholarships in specific situations. Students must take either the SAT or the ACT and submit their scores to their chosen colleges.

Peri, a student at Thelma L Sandmeier Elementary School in New Jersey, was recognized on Monday for her outstanding performance on the SAT, ACT, or similar assessment administered as part of the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Talent (VTY) Search. In the 2020-21 Talent Search year, she was one of approximately 19,000 students from 84 countries that joined CTY. CTY employs above-grade-level testing to identify advanced students from all over the world and to present a clear picture of their genuine academic ability.

Peri took the Johns Hopkins Talent Search test in the spring of 2021, when she was in fifth grade. Her verbal and quantitative scores were in the 90th percentile of advanced Grade 8 performance. She was selected for the Johns Hopkins CTY High Honors Awards.

“This inspires me to do more,” Peri remarked, adding that doodling and reading J R R Tolkien’s works had helped her.

Granular information is not broken down by age or race as part of Johns Hopkins policy. Similarly, it is up to the guardian to reveal the prodigy’s name. Awardees came from all 50 states in the United States. CTY High Honours Awards were awarded to less than 20% of CTY Talent Search participants. Honorees also qualified for CTY’s online and summer programs, which connect talented students from around the world to establish a community of engaged learners.

“We are thrilled to honor these students. Their passion for learning shone through in a year that was anything but average, and we are eager to assist develop their progress as scholars and citizens throughout high school, college, and beyond “CTY’s executive director, Virginia Roach issued a statement.

Every year, about 15,500 people enrol in CTY Online Programmes courses. Furthermore, CTY’s in-person Summer Programmes for bright students are available at around 20 locations in the United States and Hong Kong, according to the statement.
