The US is eager to continue its partnership with India, but the delay in providing the COVID-19 vaccine is not due to Washington

New Delhi: The White House announced on Friday (August 6, 2021) that the Biden Administration is eager to continue its partnership with India in the fight against COVID-19 and provide vaccine assistance.

During a press conference, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki stated that the delay in delivering COVID-19 vaccines to India is not due to Washington.

“First and foremost, we have seen in some places that there are legal or regulatory issues that need to be worked out country by country as we deliver vaccines,” she responded to a question.

“The holdup is not on this end, but we are eager to get vaccines and continue assisting the people of India, and we want to remain a part of the arsenal for combating the pandemic,” Psaki said.

“We are eager to continue to work with them and provide assistance, including in the form of vaccines,” she said.
