The price of a commercial LPG cylinder has risen to more than Rs 1,600

Kochi: At a time when auto fuel and domestic LPG prices are skyrocketing, the cost of a commercial LPG cylinder has risen to Rs 1623.
Prices for 19 kg commercial cylinders were raised by Rs 72.50 on August 1 to cross the Rs 1,600 mark. The increase is yet another blow to inflation-stricken commoners and small businesses, who are already facing financial difficulties as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and rising fuel prices.

The price of a 14 kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged at Rs 841.50. However, the prices of domestic LPG cylinders and commercial LPG cylinders were raised by Rs 25.50 and Rs 84.50, respectively, on July 1.

The price of a domestic LPG cylinder increased by Rs 140 in the first eight months of this year. During the same time period, the price of a commercial LPG cylinder increased by Rs 300. LPG cylinder prices were raised three times in February alone.
