In India, the Quad nations are on track to produce 1 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccinations, according to the US

The White House said on Wednesday (August 4, 2021) that the Quad countries are on track to produce at least one billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine in India by the end of 2022. It also reaffirmed its commitment to providing free vaccines to the needy around the world with no strings attached. Australia, India, Japan, and the United States compose the Quad.

Previously, in March, the Quad leaders conducted their first-ever virtual summit and promised to providing one billion immunizations to Southeast Asia.

“At the G7, we witnessed some action. More needs to be done “According to health experts, 11 billion doses are still needed, she stated.

“So, I think our effort will be to continue to make this a front and centre discussion at global engagements meetings, whether it’s the UNGA or G20 or meetings we will have in the future, because it will require all of the world’s richest countries, including the United States, to step up, increase vaccine donations, and increase manufacturing capacity,” she added.

Furthermore, Psaki stated that the government may supply vaccines to its citizens as well as donate to other countries.

“We believe we can accomplish both. We also have enough vaccines in this country to ensure that every American gets access to one. We will have enough boosters to assure that if the FDA decides that boosters are necessary for a part of the population, we will be able to deliver those as well. We believe we can do both, and we don’t believe we have to choose between the two “Psaki stated.
