In the last 24 hours, India has recorded 42,982 new coronavirus infections and 533 deaths
According to the most recent data released by the Union Health Minister, India has 42,982 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 3,18,12,114, with as many as 533 deaths in the last 24 hours raising the death toll to 4,26,290. In the last 24 hours, there has been a rise of 723 cases in the active caseload.
The number of active cases has risen to 4,10,353, accounting for 1.29 percent of all infections. The overall number of recoveries is 3,09,74,748, raising the national COVID-19 recovery rate to 97.37 percent.

The daily optimism rate is 2.58 percent, less than 3 percent for the tenth day in a row, and the weekly positivity rate is 2.37 percent, still less than 5 percent.
