COVID-19: India has 35,499 new cases and 447 deaths

According to the Union Health Ministry, with 35,499 more people testing positive for COVID-19, India’s infection tally now stands at 3,19,69,954, while the death toll has risen to 4,28,309, with 447 new fatalities.
The number of active cases has decreased to 4,02,188, accounting for 1.27 percent of total infections, and the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 97.39 percent, according to data updated by the ministry at 8 a.m.

In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has decreased by 4,634 cases.

According to the data, the number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 3,11,39,457, with a case fatality rate of 1.34 percent.

On Sunday, 13,71,871 COVID-19 tests were administered in the country, bringing the total number of such tests to 48,17,67,232.

The daily positivity rate was calculated to be 2.59 percent. It has been less than 3% for the last 14 days, according to the ministry, with the weekly positivity rate standing at 2.35 percent.

Until Monday morning, 50.86 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses had been administered as part of the nationwide vaccination drive.

On August 7, last year, India’s COVID-19 infection tally reached 20 lakh, followed by 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, 50 lakh on September 16, 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19.

On May 4, the country passed the two-crore-case mark, and on June 23, it passed the three-crore-case mark.
