New Delhi: Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla recently resorted to Instagram to upload a lengthy video detailing why she chose to submit a petition opposing 5G technology in India. In her petition, she cited health concerns as the basis for her choice, claiming that 5G technology could harm people and the environment.
The actress faced a lot of backlash for her legal action, which many saw as a publicity gimmick. In reaction to this criticism, she resorted to Instagram to release a video and elaborate on the grounds for her plea.

She wrote in the caption, “It was about time. I’ll let you decide if it was a publicity stunt.”

“All we are asking is that the authorities certify that 5G is safe; please certify it and publish your studies and research on this in the public domain so that we can get rid of this fear of ours; we just want to know that it is safe for children, pregnant women, unborn children, people who are old, infirm, flora and fauna; that is all we are asking,” Juhi explained in a previous post.

The Delhi High Court dismissed the complaint filed by actress and environmentalist Juhi Chawla against the establishment of 5G wireless networks in the country on June 4. The court ruled that the plaintiffs had exploited the legal system and fined the actress Rs 20 lakhs, according to ANI.
