Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Assembly congratulated Neeraj Chopra on winning India’s first gold medal in track and field events at the Tokyo Olympics on Monday.
While reading out the congratulatory message in the Assembly, Speaker M B Rajesh said Chopra, who won India’s first gold medal in Olympic track and field with a throw of 87.58 metres, fulfilled the dreams of many generations of Indians.
“The House congratulates Neeraj Chopra on bringing the country a glorious victory,” Rajesh said.
The Kerala Assembly also congratulated Bajrang Punia on his bronze medal in the 65 Kg freestyle wrestling competition.
The Assembly wished both of them continued success in the future. The House also congratulated all of the country’s athletes who won medals in the Tokyo Olympics, which ended on Sunday.
