“Not From the Bible.”: Eesho movie: Nadirsha

Since filmmaker Nadirsha announced his new directorial ‘Eesho,’ the title has caused debate in the Christian community. They objected to the title and its tagline, “Not From the Bible.” However, the filmmaker himself acknowledged last week that he has no intentions to change the title and explained that the title refers to the character name of the film’s protagonist and has nothing to do with the Bible or the Christian community. He also stated that he was willing to accept any penalties after the film’s release if anyone found it to be offensive to religious sentiments. The tagline was later removed by the film’s creators.

A day ago, Kerala Janapaksham leader and ex-MLA PC George lashed out at the film’s producers over the title, threatening that the film would not be released. He went on to say that he would campaign against the film throughout Kerala. He also accused the filmmakers of defaming the Christian community by using Christian names for undesirable characters. The film’s creators have yet to respond to PC George.

The film, billed as a thriller, is directed by Nadirshah, who also serves as the film’s composer. Jafer Idduki, an actor, will have a crucial role in the film. Suresh Varanad wrote the story, dialogues, and script for Eesho. Although Nadirshah will compose the songs, Jakes Bejoy will be in charge of the project’s background music. Nadirshah, who made his directorial debut with the Malayalam film Amar Akbar Anthony in 2015, is also working on the forthcoming Malayalam film ‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nadhan,’ which stars Dileep and Urvashi.
