In a world full of fancy workout routines, it might be difficult to pick one and keep to it. Mathias Ried-Larsen, PhD, conducted the study by analysing the health data of almost 7,000 persons with diabetes from the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition study. The data included a questionnaire regarding medical history, sociodemographic information, and lifestyle information that was administered in ten Western European countries between 1992 and 2000. The average age of the participants was roughly 56, and at the end of the trial, over 1,700 of them had died.Based on their extensive research, the researcher’s team determined that frequent cycling for more than five years can reduce the risk of premature death from all causes by 35%

How far do you need to cycle?

The study stated that cycling can assist to add years to one’s life, but it did not specify how far or how long one must bike to reap this effect. They stated that the study’s goal was to determine the long-term benefits of cycling. Instead of being concerned with the timing, one should simply be consistent and enjoy their ride.
