COVID-19 third wave scare: Karnataka is expected to enforce harsher rules after August 15, according to Minister.

New Delhi: In the midst of the third COVID-19 wave fear, Karnataka is expected to implement tougher steps to prevent the coronavirus from spreading. State Revenue Minister R Ashok announced on Friday that a meeting will be held on Saturday, chaired by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, to review the COVID-19 situation in the state (August 13).

Despite the fact that Karnataka has indicated that schools for grades 9 to 12 will resume on August 23, the chief minister will convene an emergency meeting with specialists to discuss the third wave, according to ANI. According to scientists, children will be hit during the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic since they are unvaccinated.

“We have already launched the ‘Vathsalya’ scheme in the districts of Udupi and Haveri to completely supervise the children. We will organize pediatric health camps to assess their nutritional strength and will provide all essential therapy for malnutrition and undergrowth “He stated.

“We have offered training to all concerned personnel working on the initiative, and we will endeavor to protect the children from this infection,” the CM continued. All district hospitals have been directed to set up a pediatric intensive care unit.”

According to an ANI report, from August 1 to August 11, 543 youngsters aged 0 to 19 were infected with COVID-19 in Karnataka. Of the total COVID-19 positive youngsters, 210 were between the ages of 0 and 9, and 333 were between the ages of 10 and 19. The majority of the affected youngsters were asymptomatic or had minor coronavirus symptoms.

Meanwhile, in light of the third wave, the Karnataka government prohibited all Muharram and Ganesh Chaturthi processions until August 20 in an order issued on Thursday.

Karnataka had 1,857 new illnesses and 30 deaths, bringing the total number of coronavirus infections to 29.24 lakh and the death toll to 36,911, according to the state health department on Thursday.
