Is wheat superior to rice?

Rice has been the social identity of Keralites for a long time. Due to socio-economic and financial conditions, wheat also became part of our routine food. Wheat is fatless and rich in fibre, Vitamin D, Iron, Calcium and Magnesium.

Wheat, on the other hand, contains ‘Gluten,’ a type of protein that acts as a binder, holding the food together. As a result, some doctors advise patients to avoid wheat if they have certain diseases such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Many people believe that if you have diabetes, you can replace rice with wheat. However, the carbohydrate content of wheat is nearly identical to that of rice. Wheat was studied by Ayurvedic experts over a thousand years ago. They discovered that wheat provides enough energy for day-to-day activities. It improves blood circulation and provides energy to the muscles and bones. It also regenerates cells and aids in wound healing.

Wheat is used to treat diseases that damage the eyes and brain (Cerebral/Optic atrophy). Wheat is also beneficial for increasing sperm count and sexual energy.
