Sridevi once said ‘NO’ to a Hollywood film; can you guess who directed it?

Today is Sridevi’s birth anniversary. The actress who left us far too soon would have been 58 years old. She was also known as ‘India’s first female superstar’ due to her massive fan base across the country. Sridevi died of a cardiac arrest in Dubai in 2018 at the age of 54.

The actress was a top performer in the 1980s and 1990s, and she appeared alongside many male superstars. Sridevi has also appeared in films in a variety of languages. She began her Bollywood career as a child actor in Rani Mera Naam and as Laxmi’s sibling in Julie.

Did you know that Steven Spielberg once offered Sridevi a major Hollywood project? According to reports, the actress was approached for the role of Claire in Jurassic Park.
However, the part proposed for Sridevi was a minor one. She had reached the pinnacle of her career when she was offered the Hollywood role, so she declined. The part was too small for her.
Sridevi also turned down one of Shah Rukh Khan’s biggest hits, Darr, which starred Sunny Deol and Juhi Chawala. “After Chandni and Lamhe, I feel Darr would have been an ordinary character for me,” the late actress said in an interview.
