Anandha Kannan, a well-known Tamil actor and VJ, died of cancer, and his fans mourn his passing

New Delhi: On August 16, 2021, a popular Tamil actor, VJ, and host died, leaving behind a bereaved family, friends, and fans. The shocking news of his untimely death left everyone in mourning. He was 48 years old.

On Twitter, director Venkat Prabhu expressed his condolences and shared the heartbreaking news. He wrote: A great friend, a great human being, has passed away!! My heartfelt condolences to the family of #RIPanandakannan.

Anandha Kannan had been battling cancer for a long time. Many Tamil actors and directors have mourned Kannan’s untimely death, recalling his beautiful cinematic journey.

He began his career on Singapore Vasantham TV as an actor and host. Later, he rose to prominence as one of the most popular VJs in the 1990s and 2000s.

Kannan also appeared in the Tamil film Adhisaya Ulagam and co-starred in the unreleased Mullum Malarum with his co-host Prajin. He appeared as a cameo in Venkat Prabu’s film Saroja.

He hosted the Tamil version of We Are Singaporeans, Savaal Singapore.

He received the International Youth Icon award at the World Universities Tamil Conference 2013, as well as the Television Actors Guild Award (South India) for “Best Actor.”
