Six skincare myths that must be dispelled

Have you spent a lot of money on organic skincare products that didn’t work out? Have you ever wondered why your ayurvedic skincare products don’t work? It could be due to skin care beliefs that have been instilled in us for a long time.

If you enjoy reading beauty and wellness articles or searching the internet for the best body care products or natural skincare products, you have probably ingested a large amount of info. Add to it the stories of midwives, and we’re left wondering what’s true and what’s fantasy.

Here are some common fallacies about facial care beauty products debunked so you can get a step closer to having picture-perfect skin!

In the summer, I simply need to wear sunscreen.

The sun provides little to no heat throughout the winter and monsoon seasons. That is not to say that the sun’s beams are not present in the atmosphere. They are simply not very strong due to the weather. Sunscreens shield your skin from the sun’s damaging UV and UB rays, which can cause skin cancer. As a result, regardless of the season, one should continue to use a sun protection shield.

Every day, I must exfoliate my skin.

Daily exfoliation of the skin is a beauty and wellness sin! Exfoliation is the process of deep cleaning your skin by eliminating dirt and oil that has accumulated in the pores. Our skin sheds dead skin cells on its own. Exfoliating it on a daily basis will harm the skin and deplete its natural oils, leaving it rough and dry.

My skin is suffering as a result of my use of cosmetics.

Many dual-purpose cosmetic products include moisturizers to nourish your skin. A high-quality product won’t clog your pores or trap debris. Sleeping with makeup on, on the other hand, is bad for your skin! It not only causes skin outbreaks, but it also degrades collagen, causing accelerated aging.

Expensive products imply a higher quality product.

This is not always the case! The content and formulation of a product are what distinguishes it from the competition. Varied components cause different reactions in different people’s skin. We must select products that are most suited to our skin type. You can contact a dermatologist to learn more about your skin and how to choose the best ayurvedic skin care products for you.

I have oily skin, I should not use a moisturizer.

Many people assume that using moisturizers and lotions to oily skin causes breakouts. Acne is mostly caused by excess sebum production and clogged pores, and your moisturizer is simply, well, a moisturizer! It nourishes and moisturizes your skin, keeping it soft and supple! You’re good to go if you use a lightweight or gel-based moisturizer for oily skin.

My skin only needs a pea-sized amount of product.

Unless a product instructs you to use a little amount, you must use as much as needed to receive the benefits. When it comes to facial care cosmetic products, there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution. Some spread easily, while others require thick layers to work well.
