In India, there has been an increase in COVID-19 cases, 35,178 new infections, and 440 deaths in the last 24 hours

NEW DELHI: A day after reporting a record drop in new COVID-19 cases, India recorded 35,178 new cases of coronavirus in the previous 24 hours on Wednesday. The country also reported 440 deaths and 37,169 recoveries over this time period, according to figures provided today by the Union Health Ministry.

According to the Health Ministry, 35,178 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours, representing a nearly 40% increase from the 25,166 cases reported on Tuesday, which was the smallest single-day increase in numbers in 154 days.
According to figures updated at 8 a.m., the death toll has risen to 4,32,519, including 440 new fatalities.

The number of active cases has dropped to 3,67,415 in 148 days, accounting for 1.14 percent of total infections, the lowest since March 2020, according to the Health Ministry.
In a 24-hour period, the active COVID-19 caseload was reduced by 2,431 cases, according to the report. On Tuesday, 17,97,559 tests were carried out, bringing the total number of COVID-19 detection tests carried out in the country to 49,84,27,083.
The daily positivity rate was found to be 1.96 percent. For the last 23 days, it has been less than 3%. The weekly positive rate stood at 1.95 percent. According to the ministry, it has been below 3% for the past 54 days.

According to the data, the number of persons who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 3,14,85,923, with a case fatality rate of 1.34 percent. So far, 56.06 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered as part of the statewide vaccination program.

In a significant improvement in the COVID-19 situation across the country, India recorded 25,166 new cases of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The single-day increase of 25,166 COVID-19 cases was the lowest in 154 days, according to the Union Health Ministry. According to Health Ministry figures, the number of active cases had dropped to 3,69,846, the lowest in 146 days. The recovery rate had increased to 97.51 percent as a result of this, according to the Health Ministry.

In addition, 15,63,985 tests were carried out on Monday, bringing the total number of COVID-19 detection tests carried out in the country to 49,66,29,524. The daily positive rate stood at 1.61 percent. For the past 22 days, it has been less than 3%.

On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 tally surpassed 20 lakh, followed by 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16. It reached 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19.

On May 4, India passed the two-crore mark, and on June 23, it passed the three-crore mark.
