Kerala launches a drive-through vaccination service in TVM

Thiruvananthapuram: On Thursday, the Kerala government opened the state’s first drive-through vaccination centre in Thiruvananthapuram. People will be able to receive the injection from the safety of their vehicle.

Veena George, the minister of health, paid a visit to the centre, which was established at Thiruvananthapuram Women’s College.

“We had a fruitful discussion with the union health minister. Kerala is more vulnerable to the virus’s rapid spread than other states. However, because we strictly followed the COVID protocol, 50% of the people did not contract the virus. Because they are at risk, these people have the right to receive the vaccine “said the health minister at the launch of the drive-through vaccination.

The state has requested that the federal government allocate 1 cr 15 lakh doses of vaccine. She went on to say that this step was taken to vaccinate everyone.

She also expressed optimism about the upcoming meeting with the Union Health Minister.

The health department’s goal is to vaccinate as many people as possible through the centre, which is open 24 hours a day, including holidays.

The centre, the first of its kind in Kerala, will only provide vaccines to those who have registered online.
On Thursday, over 100 people received the jab from the drive-through centre. According to reports, the centre received a positive response from the public on the first day.
