Neeraj Chopra is in the hospital: ‘Get well soon, Golden Boy,’ admirers say as they pray for the Olympic champion’s health

Neeraj Chopra, a gold medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, was hospitalized in Panipat due to a high fever. The javelin star, who did India proud by becoming the country’s first track and field athlete to win Olympic gold, has been suffering from a fever due to tiredness for the past week. As his admirers await word on his health, social media was flooded with prayers for the Olympic champion.

“@Neeraj chopra1 bhai ab aapki tabiyat kaisi hai kyu ki aaj aapko bahut tez fewer hai jiski wajah se aapko panipat ke hospital me rakha gaya h. bhai apni health ka bhi dhayan rakho aap jaise player aur desh bhakat ki hame bahut jaroorat h. “Aap aane wale players ki inspiration ho,” one fan commented.
“Wishing good health and a speedy recovery to @Neeraj chopra1 who has been admitted to the hospital due to a fever,” said another tweet.

The 23-year-old became the first Indian track and field athlete to win an Olympic gold medal, becoming only the second Indian to do it after shooter Abhinav Bindra. However, a few days after returning home on Monday, he suffered a high fever and, on the recommendation of doctors, performed a coronavirus test.

“He did not test positive for COVID-19. But, for the time being, we have put all of his engagements on hold,” a source told PTI.
