Over 85 Indians were rescued from Kabul by special aircraft of the Indian Air Force during the Afghanistan crisis

Kabul, Afghanistan (Afghanistan): Today, more than 85 Indians were evacuated from Afghanistan (August 21). According to the news agency ANI, an Indian Air Force C-130J aircraft took off from Kabul with around 85 Indians on board. The plane had landed in Tajikistan to refuel. According to sources, Indian government officials have been assisting in the evacuation of Indian citizens on the ground in Kabul.

The government has been coordinating efforts to safely return residents. India had already evacuated its consular workers from Kandahar, which was on the verge of being overrun by Taliban terrorists. According to the reports, the Indian officials from the Kandahar consulate then stationed themselves in the Kabul embassy and were directing activity from there.

Following the capture of Kabul’s capital on August 15, the Indian Air Force flew two sorties of the C-17 Globemaster after receiving approval from US forces at the airport there, bringing back approximately 180 officials, ITBP personnel, and a few journalists. Around 180 Indian passengers have already been evacuated by the Indian Air Force. According to media sources, Afghanistan’s government disintegrated on August 15, with President Ashraf Ghani fleeing the nation and the Taliban taking control of the city. According to media reports, Taliban leaders have been meeting in Doha to discuss future government plans after capturing control of Kabul and seizing the presidential palace.

Panic gripped Afghanistan’s capital as residents feared a return to the Taliban’s ruthless reign and the danger of retaliatory killings. Several individuals urgently trying to exit the country packed Kabul airport on Monday, forming a ring around a departing US military plane.
