According to the MEA, the Narendra Modi government is committed to ensuring the safe return of all Indian nationals from Afghanistan. According to the MEA, the main challenge for travel to and from Afghanistan is the Kabul airport’s operational status.

168 passengers, including 107 Indians, took off from Kabul, Afghanistan’s capital, earlier on Sunday morning and landed at the Hindon Air Force base in Ghaziabad.

According to news agency ANI, 107 Indians out of 168 passengers on a special repatriation flight from Kabul on an Indian Air Force C-17 aircraft have arrived at the Hindon IAF base in Ghaziabad.

According to officials, all passengers will be required to take the mandatory COVID-19 RT-PCR test before being allowed to leave the airport.

According to the MEA, approximately 400 Indians are stranded in Afghanistan. According to government sources, India has been granted permission to operate two flights per day from Kabul to evacuate its nationals who have become stranded in Afghanistan.

The permission was granted by American and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) forces, which have been in charge of the Hamid Karzai International Airport since the Taliban took over the Afghan capital on August 15.

The Taliban took over the presidential palace in Afghanistan on Sunday, 15 August, in a lightning sweep across the war-torn country, deposing the US-backed Ashraf Ghani government.
