AI’s direct flight from Kochi to London will begin today
Kochi: The Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has organised a direct flight from Kochi to London as an Onam special gift for passengers. On Sunday, the first flight from Kochi to London will take off. The flight service will operate three days a week. CIAL (Cochin International Airport Ltd) has waived parking and landing fees in order to encourage direct flights to Europe.
After the UK moved India from the red list to the amber list the other day, air travel between India and the UK became more convenient. Soon after the decision, CIAL, Air India, and the Kerala government joined forces to launch direct flights from Kochi to Europe. Kochi is Kerala’s only airport with direct flight service to Europe.
Following the lifting of the travel ban, flights from London’s Heathrow airport to Kochi began on August 18.
On Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, the air service will be available. The direct flight from Kochi to London will take nearly 10 hours. The positive response to this service prompted the authorities to launch air service from Kochi to London.
