Kerala Government Establishes Special Food Safety Team for Onam Season Oversight

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Department of Food has introduced a dedicated team to ensure the quality and security of food items distributed during the Onam season within the state.

According to sources, this team will conduct assessments at distribution centers for various commodities, encompassing items like cooking oils, milk, pappad, jaggery, payasam mix, ghee, vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, and more. Furthermore, inspections will extend to hotels, bakeries, and checkpoints. In the meantime, Health Minister Veena George has urged individuals to diligently follow the food safety protocols outlined by the food department.
