Manika Batra gets off to a winning start at the Tokyo Olympics, defeating Margaryta Pesotska of Ukraine

On Day 2 of the Tokyo Olympics, the top Indian athletes continue to dominate. In table tennis, top female paddler Manika Batra won her first match on Sunday, defeating Margaryta Pesotska of Ukraine 4-3.

Despite the fact that the two had an intense battle that lasted until the deciding set, the entire match took 57 minutes to complete. Pesotska outplayed Batra in the first two sets, as the latter’s extensive efforts piled pressure on the former.

Nonetheless, Batra began her bid for a comeback in the following two sets, upping her ante while remaining innovative and aggressive. While Pesotska maintained the same strategy after the set was tied 3-3, Batra dominated the final set, going all out and leaving little room for her opponent to make a comeback.
