Message reactions will be introduced in the same way as Instagram, Twitter, and WhatsApp have: Report

WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook, is working on message responses that are similar to those available on Instagram and Twitter. Message answers on WhatsApp could be part of Facebook’s efforts to improve the service’s operation. The functionality was discovered by WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo, and no users or beta testers will be able to try it for the time being. WhatsApp is now testing the message response capability internally, according to the source.

WABetaInfo shared a screenshot of the feature, which shows a message notifying the user that they are using an older version of WhatsApp that does not support answers. WABetaInfo shared a screenshot from the most recent WhatsApp beta for Android. Message answers will be available through Android and iOS apps, as well as internet and desktop clients.

This is similar to message reactions on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger, where users can just respond with an expression (emoji) rather than reacting to the message. WhatsApp is now working on adding multi-device compatibility to the platform, which would allow users to use WhatsApp on multiple devices without having to check in on their phones each time.

WhatsApp has now announced a public beta for its desktop client, allowing Windows and macOS users to sign up and test out all of the new features that will be available in the WhatsApp desktop app.
