With 46,164 new COVID-19 cases reported in 24 hours, India sees a 22.7 percent increase

New Delhi: According to data given by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday (August 26, 2021), India reported 46,164 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total COVID-19 caseload to 3,25,58,530, and the death toll to 4,36,365 with 607 new cases.
In the last 24 hours, 34,159 recoveries were recorded, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 3,17,88,440. The current recovery rate is 97.63 percent. Furthermore, India’s active cases increased to 3,33,725 in 24 hours, accounting for 1.03 percent of the total infection figure.

The daily positivity rate was calculated to be 2.58 percent. For the last 30 days, it has been less than 3%. Meanwhile, the weekly positive rate was 2.02 percent. According to the ministry, it has been below 3% for the past 62 days.

According to the data, the Nationwide Vaccination Drive has resulted in the administration of at least 60.38 crore vaccine doses.
