Even before the official introduction, Chinese clones of the Apple Watch Series 7 are for sale: Report

New Delhi: Apple is rumoured to be planning the release of a new Apple Watch this year, and now photographs believed to be counterfeits of the impending Watch Series 7 units have surfaced online, providing a closer look at the device’s projected overhaul.

The photographs were posted on Twitter by @MajinBuOfficial and show the knock-off Watch Series 7 in space grey, silver, and space black.

The Watch Series 7 design is similar to previously leaked CAD images of the next-generation Apple Watch. The Apple Watch is rumoured to have a square edge, similar to the iPhone 12 series, iPad Air, iPad Pro, and 24-inch iMac.

Majin Bu also stated that these Apple Watch Series 7 knockoffs will cost roughly $60 in China.

The Apple Watch Series 7 is rumoured to have larger 41mm and 45mm case sizes, replacing the current 40mm and 44mm versions available since the Apple Watch Series 4. The upcoming Apple Watch is rumoured to have lower bezels and a flat-edged design, allowing for a somewhat larger display surface area.

The Apple Watch Series 7 is rumoured to have a smaller “S7” chip, which could allow for a larger battery or other components.

ASE Technology, a Taiwanese supplier, will manufacture this new chipset. ASE Technology announced on its website that its double-sided technology will enable module downsizing.
The Cupertino-based tech behemoth also intends to use a new lamination method that lowers the gap between the display and the cover glass, which may result in a slightly thicker overall chassis for the Watch.
