India detects 46,759 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, a 4.7 percent increase from the previous day

According to the Health Ministry, India reported 46,759 new cases on Saturday and 509 deaths in the previous 24 hours. Since Friday, there has been a rise of 14,876 cases or approximately 5%.
The active caseload in India is 3,59,775 cases, accounting for 1.10 percent of total cases. With 31,374 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the overall number of recoveries now stands at 3,18,52,802, with a recovery rate of 97.56 percent.

The daily positivity rate (2.66 percent) is less than 3%, while the weekly positivity rate (2.19 percent) is less than 3% for the last 64 days.

Around addition, 17,61,110 coronavirus tests were performed in the country on Friday, bringing the total number of such tests performed to 51,68,87,602. 62.29 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered as part of the national vaccination programme as of Saturday morning.
