He was chastised by his parents, and as a result, he ran away from home.

According to an official, the police tracked down the runaway youngster in the Mahakali Caves neighborhood of Andheri (east) and returned him to his parents. The event was discovered on Wednesday (August 25) evening after the youngster’s father called the MIDC police station with a missing person’s complaint; because the boy is a juvenile, the police lodged a case of kidnapping and a search was initiated, according to an official.

During the investigation, the boy’s parents told police that he had been addicted to PUBG since last month, and that while playing on his phone, he spent Rs 10 lakh from his mother’s bank account to buy an ID and virtual cash to play the game. When the parents discovered the internet transaction, they chastised the youngster, who then penned a letter and left the house, according to the official.

The next day, the criminal branch team was able to track down the youngster with the help of informants and technical analysis, and he was returned to his parents after counselling, he added.
