The Center relaxes some interstate travel restrictions

The Centre government has lifted inter-state travel restrictions by air, rail, water, and road.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has revised domestic travel guidelines in order to create a consistent protocol across the country.

The ministry also stated that if an asymptomatic individual has received both doses of COVID-19 vaccination, no RTPCR negative report or RAT test is required to enter the state.

The traveller must have at least 15 days since the second vaccination shot and must have the final vaccination certificate issued through the COWIN portal.

However, states and union territories have been told to take “appropriate public health measures as soon as possible” if there is an unusual increase in cases.

States have been given the authority to impose additional restrictions based on local needs.
