In 24 hours, India records 42,909 new COVID-19 cases and 380 deaths

According to data issued by the Ministry of Health on Monday, India registered 42,909 new COVID-19 cases and 380 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total caseload to 3,27,37,939 and the total death toll to 4,38,210. (August 30, 2021).

The country also recorded 34,763 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing total recoveries to 3,19,23,405 and increasing the active caseload to 3,76,324. The COVID recovery rate is currently 97.51 percent.

The weekly optimism rate in India was 2.41 percent, less than 3 percent during the last 65 days. The daily positivity rate was calculated to be 3.02 percent.

The health ministry reported on Monday that over 63.43 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered as part of the statewide vaccination push.

Furthermore, the Goa government has prolonged the COVID-19-induced nationwide curfew until September 6. The 24-hour curfew was first imposed on May 9 of this year, and it has been frequently extended since then.

Meanwhile, the number of verified coronavirus cases worldwide topped 216.3 million on Monday, with the global COVID-19 death toll standing at more than 4.5 million, according to the most recent statistics from Johns Hopkins University’s Coronavirus Resource Center.
