11 people died in Nagaur van-truck incident; PM Modi offers condolences; MP government announces compensation

On Tuesday, eleven pilgrims were killed and seven others were critically injured when their van collided with a truck in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district.

The vehicle accident happened near Shri Balaji Temple on the Bikaner-Jodhpur Highway, according to Nagaur police.

According to officials, eight women were among those killed. The victims were coming home after praying at the Ramdevra and Karni Mata temples in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain district.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has conveyed his condolences following the unfortunate event.

“The tragic death of 11 pilgrims returning to MP in a horrible road accident in Nagaur’s Shribalaji district is heartbreaking. My condolences go out to the grieving family; may God give them strength during this terrible time, and may the departed’s soul rest in peace. I’m hoping for a swift recovery for those who have been injured “Gehlot stated in a tweet.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sympathies to the victims’ families. “The heinous traffic tragedy in Nagaur, Rajasthan, is excruciatingly unpleasant. “I extend my condolences to the families of all those who have died in this disaster and wish the injured a swift recovery,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated.

 

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, has offered ex-gratia aid of Rs 2 lakh each to the kin of 11 people from Ujjain who perished in a road accident in Nagaur.
According to the Chief Minister, the state government will cover the entire expense of the injured’s treatment.
