In India, 41,965 new COVID-19 cases have been reported, including 460 deaths in the last 24 hours

NEW DELHI: India has reported 41,965 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, according to a statement issued by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Wednesday.

460 deaths were also documented in the country during this time period as a result of the COVID-19, according to the report. According to Health Ministry data, there were 33,964 cases of recovery in the previous 24 hours. With this, India’s entire COVID-19 tally now stands at 3,28,10,845, with 3,78,181 active cases.

So far, the country has seen 3,19,93,644 cases of recovery from the deadly virus, which has killed 4,39,020 individuals in India.

With 30,941 patients testing positive for coronavirus, India’s total COVID-19 cases rose to 3,27,68,880 on Tuesday, while active cases fell to 3,70,640.

 

According to the figures, the death toll has risen to 4,38,560 with 350 more casualties. On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 tally surpassed 20 lakh, followed by 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16.

It reached 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19. On May 4, India passed the two-crore mark, and on June 23, it passed the three-crore mark.

 

Meanwhile, India set a new record on Tuesday by administering over 1 crore COVID-19 vaccination doses across the country. The figures are the highest attained by India on a single day since the mass immunization effort began on January 16.

 

For the first time, India administered over 1 crore (1,08,83,963) vaccination doses five days ago. COVID immunization coverage in India has already surpassed 65 crores (65,12,14,767) doses.

It reached the 60 lakh level on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, broke the 80 lakh mark on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and surpassed the one-crore milestone on November 20. It took India 85 days to reach the figure of 10 crore. It then took 45 days to reach the 20-million-dollar barrier, then another 29 days to reach the 30-million-dollar level. On August 6, the country took 24 days to reach 40 crore vaccines and another 20 days to attain 50 crore immunizations. On August 25, it took 19 more days to surpass the 60-crore threshold. On, India passed the dreadful two-crore mark.
