After a fisherman from Palghar, Maharashtra, Chandrakant Tare, and his team captured around 157 Ghoul fishes near Wadhwan, the fish became the buzz of the town, fetching them a hefty Rs 1.33 crore. Due to pollution, ghol fish are rare in the area, and fishermen must go deep into the sea to catch a good catch.

Tare and about eight crew members set sail for fishing on the evening of August 28. They took the boat Harba Devi to Wadhwan, which is 20 to 25 nautical miles away. As word spread about their catch, anxious buyers came, and the fish were reportedly sold to the highest bidder, who were dealers from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
