The Taliban may announce the formation of a new Afghan government today; here are the key appointments

New Delhi: According to reports, the Taliban will announce the formation of a new government in Afghanistan on Friday, September 3. The key appointments to the new Islamic government will be announced in an announcement.

While Sheikh Haibatullah Akhundzada will be the new government’s supreme authority. Anamullah Samangani, a member of the Taliban’s cultural commission, had previously informed, “The Islamic government we will establish will serve as a model for the people. There is no doubt about the Commander of the Faithful’s (Akhunzada) presence in the government. He will be the government’s leader.”

According to local media, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, a co-founder of the Taliban, has been appointed as Afghanistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. He will also be in charge of day-to-day operations.

Also expected to be given key positions are Sirajuddin Haqqani, an influential operations leader, and Mawlawi Muhammad Yakoub, the son of the Taliban movement’s founder, Mullah Muhammad Omar.

The arrangements have been made, and the ceremonies will take place at the Presidential Palace, according to Ahmadullah Muttaqi, chief of the multimedia branch for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s cultural commission.

Though discussions on the formation of the new government have been more or less finalised, Tolo News reported that other details such as the system’s name, the national flag, and the national anthem are still being held.
