After a row, Karnataka stops stamping on the hands of Kerala passengers

Mananthavady: A move by Karnataka officials to stamp a seal on the hands of passengers sparked outrage. It was stopped by Friday evening, thanks to the intervention of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. O R Kelu MLA wrote to Pinarayi Vijayan about it, and the CM asked Wayanad Collector Dr Adheela Abdulla to look into it.

Those who entered Karnataka through the Bavali Checkpoint had their hands stamped with the stamp. Officials explained that the hands were “quarantine stamped” to ensure that the passengers were subjected to mandatory quarantine.

According to one of the passengers, UC Hussain, the border officials only checked the negative RT-PCR certificate and did not consider the fully vaccinated certificate.
