Domestic violence case involving Yo Yo Honey Singh: The rapper’s wife Shalini Talwar has been granted permission to remove her stuff from the matrimonial residence by the court

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Friday permitted Yo Yo Honey Singh’s wife, who has filed a domestic abuse case against him, to collect her belongings from her matrimonial home, but ordered the couple not to engage in any inappropriate discourse during their visit.

Honey Singh’s wife Shalini Talwar was permitted to pick her possessions from her matrimonial house on September 5 in the presence of two protection officers after Metropolitan Magistrate Tania Singh conducted in-chamber therapy for the pair for more than an hour.

On that day, the judge ordered the couple not to engage in “any hazardous talk or exchange of words.” Their lawyers have been summoned to attend, a list of their things has been created, and the entire event has been videotaped.

“There is typical wear and tear in marriages,” the magistrate said, adding that they should keep their expressions down when Talwar returns to the matrimonial house to retrieve her stuff.

“May God gives us strength to do right to both parties,” the judge said after issuing the decision, adding that she will hear arguments on Talwar’s request for temporary compensation and residence on September 28.

Talwar also has 10 days to produce her bank account balance and income affidavit, according to the judge. Singh has filed an application to have the case heard in secret. The judge has yet to rule on the plea agreement.

The court had previously summoned the musician after he failed to appear in court and issued him a last warning. The judge had stated that no one is above the law. The judge highlighted the couple’s opposing positions during in-chamber counseling, where Talwar claimed she was forced out of her matrimonial house in March 2021, while Singh claimed she left it on her own.

Singh remarked after leaving the courtroom that the judge’s counselling was nice and that he hoped everything went well.

On January 23, 2011, Hirdesh Singh, also known as Yo Yo Honey Singh, and Talwar married.

Talwar has detailed how she was allegedly physically attacked by Singh during the course of their ten-year marriage in her plea. Honey Singh, she also claimed, had cheated on her.
Singh and his family allegedly destroyed the 38-year-old woman mentally and emotionally to the point where she began to identify as a “farm animal.”
