The teaser mixes aspects of crime and supernaturalism that are ‘closed in faith and rationality.’ Here’s more about Cold Case.

Balan uploaded her profile with the teaser on her social media and wrote, “The case of a cruel secret underneath a fatal conspiracy.” The trailer for Cold Case launches on June 21. Check out the video below:

Balan, 30, is well-known for her roles in Malayalam and Tamil cinema. She began her career in movies “by chance,” she claims, as a lawyer. Her breakout performance was in the 2017 film Aruvi, in which she played the titular character.

Aruvi, one of the year’s most successful Tamil films, included significant social criticism on misogyny as well as profound philosophical themes. Balan received a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for her performance (South).

Balan told Firstpost about her big break, “I never dreamed I’d become an actor; everything happened by happenstance.” I, like every other moviegoer, like seeing emotional dramas. Following my legal degree, I participated in a workshop session to get theatre experience and performed in a few of plays. A buddy from the theatre suggested I go to Aruvi’s audition, and within a few days, they had the test shoot and signed me for the role.”

Aruvi, on the other hand, was not her first cinematic appearance. Balan has an uncredited role in Yennai Arindhaal in 2015.

Her most recent release was Kutty Story, an anthology of four short films that was released in February of this year. She played a wife who suspects her husband is having an adulterous affair in Aadal Paadal.

Her next films include the Mani Ratnam-directed anthology Navarasa and the Telugu mythological epic Shaakuntalam.
