Teachers’ Day 2021: It is commendable how teachers ensured good education during the COVID-19 era, says Prime Minister Narendra Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the teaching fraternity on Teachers’ Day 2021 on Sunday, saying it was commendable how the teaching fraternity had innovated and ensured that students’ education journeys continued in COVID times.

The Prime Minister also paid tribute to former President S Radhakrishnan on his birthday, which is observed as Teachers’ Day.

PM Modi tweeted, “On Teachers’ Day, greetings to the entire teaching fraternity, which has always played a pivotal role in nurturing young minds.”

“It is commendable how teachers have innovated and ensured students’ educational journeys continue in Covid times,” he said.

“I pay my respects to DR. Radhakrishnan on his Jayanti and recall his distinguished on his Jayanti and recall his distinguished scholarship as well as contributions to our nation,” PM Modi said in another tweet.

Every year on September 5, our country commemorates Teachers’ Day, a special day dedicated to great minds who nurture future generations.

Many countries observe the day as a special celebration to recognise the efforts of our teachers. In India, Guru Purnima is also dedicated to the reverence shown to the Guru, and September 5 is Teachers’ Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India’s second president.
