Arjuna Award Nomination for M Sreeshankar and Khel Ratna Honor for Satwik-Chirag in Indian Sports

In the latest round of nominations for India’s prestigious national sports awards, pacer Mohammed Shami, renowned for his stellar performance in the recent Cricket World Cup, has been nominated for the Arjuna Award. Shami emerged as the leading wicket-taker in the tournament, showcasing exceptional bowling prowess.

Meanwhile, the dynamic men’s doubles badminton pair of Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty has been selected for the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, recognizing their remarkable contributions to the sport. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has also unveiled a list of nominees for other categories, including the Arjuna Award, Dronacharya Award, and the Dhyan Chand Lifetime Award.

Notable nominees for the Arjuna Award include long jumper M Sreeshankar, boxer Mohammad Hussamuddin, shooter Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, and wrestler Antim Panghal, among others. The Dronacharya Award nominations feature accomplished coaches in various disciplines, including chess, wrestling, and hockey.

The Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, the country’s highest sporting honor, is set to be conferred upon the badminton duo of Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, recognizing their outstanding achievements in the sport. The award ceremony promises to be a celebration of India’s diverse sporting talents and their significant contributions on both national and international platforms
