In 24 hours, India recorded 37,875 new COVID-19 cases and 369 deaths, with Kerala accounting for 25,772 infections

NEW DELHI: India reported 37,875 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the previous 24 hours on Wednesday. The country reported 369 COVID-19 deaths during this time period, bringing the total death toll to 4,41,411.

There are currently 3,91,256 active cases, bringing the country’s total caseload to 3,30,96,718. In the last 24 hours, 39,114 people have recovered from the deadly COVID-19 infection, bringing the total to 3,22,64,051.

“A single day increase of 37,875 COVID-19 infections and 369 fatalities brings India’s case count to 3,30,96,718, death toll to 4,41,411,” the Union Health Ministry said, adding, “Active COVID-19 cases in the country decline to 3,91,256.”

According to the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, of the 37,875 new COVID-19 cases and 369 deaths reported in India in the last 24 hours, Kerala recorded 25,772 cases and 189 deaths.

78,47,625 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research.

According to Health Ministry data released this morning, a total of 70,75,43,018 people have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 tally surpassed 20 lakh, followed by 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16.

It surpassed 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19.

 

On May 4, India passed the two-crore mark, and on June 23, it passed the three-crore mark.
