WhatsApp has received a significant update! Users will soon be able to hide last seen and profile photos from specific contacts

New Delhi: WhatsApp has increased its efforts in recent months to bring new features to the popular messaging platform. One such upcoming update is likely to allow users to hide their last seen and profile photos from certain contacts.

According to WABetaInfo, an online portal that tracks the latest WhatsApp updates, users will be able to choose which contacts they want to hide their last seen WhatsApp status from.

WhatsApp displays the user’s last seen at the top of the conversation, just below the person’s name. Last seen essentially indicates when the user was last active on WhatsApp.

The feature also indicates whether or not the user is currently active on the messaging platform. At the moment, WhatsApp users can only hide their last seen from all of their contacts. Users can choose from options such as “Everyone,” “My Contacts,” and “Nobody.”

The upcoming feature, on the other hand, may allow users to hide the last seen from specific people. Users will be given a new “My Contacts Except…” option to select the contacts with whom they do not want to share their last seen.

Furthermore, users should be aware that if someone stops sharing the last seen from a contact, he or she will no longer be able to see the last seen status of that contact.

Users will be able to hide their profile photos from specific users in the meantime. The ability to hide photos from specific contacts will be available in the same way that WhatsApp intends to roll out the “My Contacts Except…” option for last seen status.
