With 34,973 new cases in 24 hours, India has seen a slight decrease in COVID-19 infections

New Delhi: India recorded 34,973 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours on Friday (September 10, 2021), bringing the total to 3,31,74,954. According to Union Health Ministry data, the death toll has risen to 4,42,009, with 260 people succumbing to COVID-19.

At 3,90,646, the active caseload accounts for 1.18 percent of the total. In the last 24 hours, 37,681 recoveries have been recorded, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,23,42,299, and the recovery rate is currently at 97.49 percent.

Kerala and Maharashtra continue to have the highest number of infections reported on a daily basis. Kerala reported 26,200 new infections and 125 deaths on Thursday. After testing 1,56,957 samples in the last 24 hours, the state’s test positivity rate has risen to 16.69 percent.

For the last 77 days, the weekly positivity rate has been less than 3%, and the daily positivity rate, at 1.96 percent, has been less than 3% for the last 11 days.

The total number of doses administered in the country as part of the nationwide vaccination drive has surpassed 72.37 crores. According to data from the Centre, more than half of India’s adult population has received at least one dose of the anti-coronavirus vaccine, with 18% receiving both shots.
