Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother is opposed to the Manchester United star marrying Georgina Rodriguez

Cristiano Ronaldo has been on a tear since joining Manchester United from Juventus earlier this year. Ronaldo scored an injury-time goal to propel Manchester United past Villareal in a UEFA Champions League 2021 match on Wednesday (September 29).

Dolores Aveiro, Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, does not want her son to marry his current lingerie model Georgina Rodriguez because she believes the Argentine-born model has financial interests in the marriage.

The Portuguese footballer is said to be very happy with Georgina, with whom he has a family life in Manchester, where they live with Cristiano Junior, Eva, Mateo, and Alana, the latter being their daughter.

According to Marca.com, the model is awaiting a proposal, but the Manchester United striker’s family is the main stumbling block to a potential wedding.

According to media reports, a source close to Ronaldo himself believes Aveiro believes the couple should not marry because Georgina’s motivation is to take advantage of her son’s money. Apparently, her other children feel the same way, indicating that the groom’s family is strongly opposed to the wedding.

Dona Dolores recently stated that she gets along well with Georgina and appreciates the support she gives Cristiano Ronaldo.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has established a new record for the most appearances in the UEFA Champions League. Ronaldo made his 178th appearance in the competition after being named to the starting XI against Villarreal, surpassing former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, according to Goal.com.

Ronaldo drew level with Casillas when he started in United’s group-stage loss to Young Boys. With 135 goals, the Portuguese star is also the Champions League’s leading scorer. Ronaldo’s goal in the dying minutes of the game helped Manchester United defeat Villarreal in a UEFA Champions League Group F match at Old Trafford. United defeated Villarreal 2-1 to move into third place in Group F with three points from two games.
