BJP’s K Surendran Raises Concerns About Pinarayi Government’s Stability

K Surendran, the BJP State President, has voiced serious concerns about the stability of the Pinarayi government in Kerala, alleging breaches of democratic norms. According to Surendran, the influence of SFI-DYFI criminals over the police has led to a state of lawlessness, prompting him to caution that the government might not endure until 2026 if this trend persists. Emphasizing the crucial role of the Kerala Police in upholding constitutional duties, Surendran suggested the possibility of deploying central forces to restore order in universities or even considering the dissolution of the Pinarayi government.

Recent events, such as the detention of Calicut University senate members by SFI members preventing them from taking their oaths, were highlighted by Surendran to illustrate the challenges faced. He assured full support from the BJP and the central government to the governor’s initiatives aimed at safeguarding democracy and improving the quality of education in Kerala universities. The statements reflect growing tensions between political factions in the state and raise questions about the future stability of the Pinarayi government.
