In the last 24 hours, India has reported 15,823 new COVID-19 cases and 226 deaths

According to Union Health Ministry data released on Wednesday, India reported 15,823 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total caseload to 3,40,01,743. (October 13).

According to official data, 226 people died, bringing the total death toll to 4,51,189. The number of active cases in the country is now 2,07,653, the lowest in 214 days, accounting for 0.61 percent of total infections. While the total number of recoveries has reached 3,33,42,901 following the recovery of 22,844 people in the last 24 hours.

Kerala had the newest coronavirus infections and deaths on Tuesday, with 7,823 new cases and 106 deaths.

The daily increase in COVID-19 cases has been less than 30,000 for 19 days in a row, and less than 50,000 new cases have been reported for 108 days in a row.

The daily positivity rate was calculated to be 1.19 percent. According to the ministry, it has been less than 3% for the last 44 days. The weekly positivity rate was reported to be 1.46 percent. It has been less than 3% for the past 110 days.

Meanwhile, India’s cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 96 million. The total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in India was 96,43,79,212, with 50,63,845 jabs administered in the last 24 hours.

Up to October 12, 2021, approximately 58,63,63,442 samples have been tested for coronavirus, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). On Tuesday, nearly 13,25,399 samples were tested.

On Tuesday, India had 14,313 new coronavirus cases, the lowest number in 224 days.
