India has recorded 18,987 new COVID-19 cases, a decrease of 1067 cases in the last 24 hours

According to data from the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 18,987 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, bringing the total number of infections to 3,40,20,730, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate increased to 98.07 percent. The death toll had risen to 4,514,435 with 246 new fatalities, according to data updated at 8 a.m.

The daily increase in new coronavirus infections has been less than 30,000 for 20 days in a row, and less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported for 109 days in a row. The number of active cases has decreased to 2,06,586 (0.61% of total infections), with the national COVID-19 recovery rate standing at 98.07%, according to the ministry.

In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has decreased by 1067 cases.

On Wednesday, a total of 13,01,083 tests were carried out, bringing the total number of COVID-19-19 detection tests carried out in the country to 58,76,64,525.

The number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 33362709, with a case fatality rate of 1.33 percent.

According to the Health Ministry, the daily positivity rate was 1.46 percent and the weekly positivity rate was 1.44 percent.

So far, more than 96.82 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign.
