3 Signs that you are in a wrong relationship

I’m not worthy of him. He should be with someone more suitable. I should work hard to improve myself so that I can compete with him. If you’ve been having these thoughts while in a relationship, it’s a sign that something isn’t quite right. Why, you might ask? Because being in a relationship entails being confident in yourself, accepting your own and the other person’s flaws, and knowing that you are irreplaceable in the life of your better half.

However, if and when a relationship causes you to feel insecure, demotivated, and your flaws take over, you should seriously reconsider. Because, most of the time, such thoughts indicate that you are not being appreciated, encouraged, or loved sufficiently to allow you to have that confidence in yourself and your relationship.

So, here are a few red flags that one should not ignore while being in a relationship.

You try hard to impress your better half

If you’ve been trying to impress your partner all the time, but it’s not working and you’re losing yourself as a result, you should take a step back, think about it, and move on. After all, it’s preferable to be alone than to be with someone who makes you feel unworthy.

You are being ghosted every once in a while

It goes without saying that everyone needs some alone time and privacy, but if that privacy is turning into secrecy, and you end up being ghosted, it’s better to move on and save yourself from the trauma. Requesting time and space is fine, but doing so frequently without a proper explanation or reason is proof that you are no longer the one for them. Set your boundaries and don’t let anyone step over them.

No matter what you do, it’s never enough

If you’re the one who takes the first step and does everything you can to make your partner happy, but they don’t reciprocate, that’s a big red flag. Also, if your efforts are dismissed as bare minimum, it demonstrates that no matter what you do, it will never be enough for your partner. In such a situation, pause and consider why you have to go through this, and whether you are not valuable enough to have gone through it. Given that you are not blaming yourself for their actions, you are more likely to receive a positive response sooner rather than later.
