India Posts Strong Total of 445 in First Innings at Rajkot Test

India displayed batting prowess on the second day of the third Test against England in Rajkot, amassing a formidable total of 445 runs in their first innings. The day witnessed stellar performances, with Rohit Sharma (131) and Ravindra Jadeja (112) both securing centuries. Debutant Sarfaraz Khan made an impressive start to his Test career, contributing a promising 62 off 66 balls.

On the second day, India, starting at 326/5, saw both Jadeja and night-watchman Kuldeep Yadav (1) departing early, leaving them at 331/7. Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel marked his first international outing with a commendable 46 off 104 balls, while the experienced Ravichandran Ashwin added 37 runs, fostering a crucial 77-run partnership for the eighth wicket.

The innings also featured a noteworthy contribution from fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who scored 26 runs. England’s Mark Wood, making a return to the team, emerged as the most successful bowler, finishing with figures of 4/114 in 27.5 overs.
